Nazareth Police Assistant Remaining on Staff

Nazareth Police Department also getting an update for its Visual Alert Program.

As Nazareth puts together its police department, one assistant who has served the borough will be sticking around for a while.

Victoria Rubio, a police administrative assistant to Police Chief Thomas Trachta, had a six-month employment contract approved by the Borough Council at a recent meeting.

Rubio's contract will contain the same salary, benefits and other provisions as her current contract. She will then go on to having her contract renewed each Jan. 1 as it is done with all other borough employees.

Trachta's contract was also recently renewed through the remainder of the year.

Nazareth also recently added two part-time officers and is advertising for full-time help as well.

Meanwhile, the police department is also getting a visual alert program. The new software update purchase costs $2,727.79.
