Find the cheapest gas in the Nazareth area.
The national average for self-serve gas has increased for ten straight days to the highest price in more than a month, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this for a gallon is $3.588, up 4.9 cents from last week, but still about 14 cents lower than a year ago. But according to the report, the year over year difference will likely continue to fade due to higher crude oil prices and refinery maintenance that decreases supply. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.439 per gallon, 2.2 cents higher than a week ago, 8.7 cents lower than a month ago and 26.6 cents lower than a year ago. Help these pets: MADALINE Madaline had a home but her owner was moving and she could not go. She is very friendly does not appreciate the company of other dogs or cats. A senior labrador mix, Madaline knows how to "sit" and would appreciate a home instead of a cage. POLLY Polly is a cute girl looking for a forever home. Polly is spayed, litter-trained, up to date on shots, microchipped and ready to go! She came to us as a stray and is eager for a family again. She likes other cats.

After months of a steady decline, gas prices saw it’s first uptick last week, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this for a gallon of gas rose 1.7 cents from last week. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.412 per gallon, 1.3 cents lower than a week ago, 17.5 cents lower than a month ago and 36.9 cents lower than a year ago. This gorgeous gal is up to date on shots, microchipped, spayed and ready to go! ELSY Elsy is an adult terrier mix. She had a rough start in life, but holds no grudges. When Elsy was first brought to the shelter, she was dirty, exhausted, had just recently had puppies and was suffering from mastitis. She was very hungry and starting to become emaciated as well. She is very grateful for the care she received and is always eager to show everyone that by snuggling and giving them kisses. With a steady decline in gas prices throughout April, the average price per gallon is nearly 45 cents lower than a year ago, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this week is $3.508 for a gallon, down .7 cents from last week. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.425 per gallon, 3.4 cents lower than a week ago, 20 cents lower than a month ago and 44.8 cents lower than a year ago. The Pennsylvania average retail price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline is also $3.463, down 2.7 cents from a week ago. Pollen, wind and climate make the Lehigh Valley an 'allergy capital,' according to a national report.
The Lehigh Valley ranks 45th—an improvement from its ranking of 41 last year— among "Spring Allergy Capitals" as named by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. The report is an independent research project to identify the 100 most challenging places to live with allergies during the spring season. This year, Jackson, Miss., rose to the number one spot on the list (up from number four last year) primarily due to very high pollen and a large reliance on allergy medications among allergy patients. The rankings are based on scientific analysis of three factors for the 100 largest metro areas in the U.S. The data measured and compared for the ranking include:

A Hellertown pastry chef and business owner is $10,000 richer (and a lot more famous) thanks to his victory on the Food Network reality TV show "Sweet Genius" last night. Alan Pitotti, who appeared on the Jan. 17 "Samba Genius" episode of the competition show, defeated three other contestants to win the grand prize and garner some prized national publicity for the borough. Pitotti is the owner of Dolce Patisserie, a boutique pastry shop that specializes in high-end confections and desserts. Dolce Patisserie is located in the Shoppes at Hellertown on Main Street. A new report ranks the Lehigh Valley metropolitan area of Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton as a 'best performing' city based on economic factors
The Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton metropolitan area ranks among our country's "best-performing" cities in a new report. "The 2012 Milken Institute Best-Performing Cities Index ranks U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth. The components include job, wage and salary, and technology growth. In most years, these give a good indication of the underlying structural performance of regional economics."
