Suicide by Train Ruled in Teen's Death

A Wilson teen died Sunday after being hit by a Norfolk-Southern train.

A 19-year-old Wilson man died Sunday after being hit by a Norfolk-Southern Train near Island Park Road along the Lehigh River in Glendon, according to Pennsylvania state police at the Belfast barracks. The man's legs were severed, said Easton Police. He died of blunt force trauma injuries at St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill. His death has been ruled a suicide by the Northampton County Coroner, according to a Lehigh Valley Live report. His name has not been released pending notification of his next of kin. A man in his 20s was also found killed on railroad tracks Sunday in Weissport, Carbon County, according to a Morning Call report. Man Shot Dead at Easton Bar Early Saturday

Easton police are looking for two 'persons of interest' following a deadly shooting that may involve members of the Bloods gang

A man was shot dead after a bar fight early Saturday and Easton police say they're not getting much cooperation from the patrons who were there. They're looking for two "persons of interest" who left the bar after the shooting. Police went to Eddie G's Bar at 1 Lehn's Court at about 12:15 a.m. responding to a report of shots fired. They found a man shot; he later died at a hospital. Northampton County Coroner Zach Lysek ruled the death a homicide. Police are not identifying the victim at this time due to the pending investigation.      An argument and fight among "numerous individuals" in the bar preceded the shooting, police say. Police: Plainfield Township Man Hid Drugs in Underwear During Bust

Cody William Stelma of Plainfield Township is facing drug charges after Easton police arrested three men Monday for alleged possession of marijuana, cocaine, heroin and Oxycodone.

Easton police busted three men on drug charges Monday afternoon for alleged possession of marijuana, cocaine, heroin and Oxycodone after police followed their green Chevy Malibu. But perhaps more significant are the criminal histories of two of the men. A fourth man was in the green Chevy transporting the suspects. But the complaints do not say if he was charged. The complaints, filed by Detectives Andrew Ocetnik and Anthony Arredondo, tell the following story: Drummond, of 254 W. St. Joseph St., was charged with possession or distribution of a small amount of marijuana as part of Monday’s bust. News Next Door: Man Punched Pregnant Woman's Stomach, Police Say

Easton police say Alexis Orta hit his girlfriend, nearly three months pregnant, in the stomach.

Easton police say an Easton man punched his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach. There's no word on how badly she was injured. Alexis Orta, 29, of 830 Wolf Ave., Apt. 2, is charged with simple assault, harassment, and recklessly endangering another person. According to police, the assault happened October 27 at a home on the 1000 block of Butler Street. Court records say officers responded to the residence for a domestic disturbance. A woman there told police that Orta, her boyfriend, had punched her in the stomach. A warrant was issued for his arrest.  Police say the woman was two-and-a-half months pregnant at the time of the assault. Orta was aware of the pregnancy when he struck his girlfriend, police said. Police Seek Easton Woman Missing Since Hospital Discharge

Linda Kile, 68, of Easton has been missing since Aug. 27 and police ask anyone who has seen her to notify them.

An Easton woman has been missing for a week and police are asking for help to find her. The family of Linda L. Kile, 68, doesn't know where she's been since she was released from Easton Hospital on Aug. 27 after being treated for injuries from a fall in her home, according to police. Kile may be driving a blue, four-door Toyota Prius. She may need medical attention if she hasn't been taking her regular prescriptions. Anyone with information is asked to call Easton Det. Local Man Facing Gun, Drug Charges After Easton Bust

Curtis Clay Phillips, of Plainfield Township, was found in possession of heroin during a March 23 drug bust in Easton, according to court records; a vehicle search also netted a loaded revolver.

A Plainfield Township man wanted for weapons and drug charges from a March drug bust in Easton was picked up and jailed Saturday, according to court records. Curtis Clay Phillips, 23, of 6065 Sullivan Trail, was the driver of a vehicle carrying three men who, according to an arrest warrant, were in a “known drug area” of Easton trying to score heroin. The incident happened at about midnight on March 23, and, according to court records, happened as follows: Phillips was charged with carrying a loaded weapon, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Roy Manwaring of Bethlehem and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
