NAHS Swim Team to Compete for Brenton's Hope

Nazareth Area High School's swim team will collect donations -- and wear special colors -- for Brenton's Hope during a meet against Freedom High School.

Nazareth Area High School's swim team will collect donations -- and don special-colored suits -- for Brenton's Hope during a meet against Freedom High School on Tuesday, Jan. 15. Brenton’s Hope was inspired by Brenton J. Krouse. The 11-year-old from Bushkill Township lost his battle against T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia on June 1, 2009. The non-profit organization was founded in April 2011. The organization -- headed by Brenton's mother, Louise -- helps raise childhood cancer awareness and funds for local families facing the hardships of a childhood cancer diagnosis. Nazareth Takes Meaningful Strides for Childhood Cancer Awareness

About 400 people Saturday morning participated in the 2nd annual 5K Dragonfly Run/Walk for Brenton's Hope, an organization that helps raise childhood cancer awareness and funds for local families.

“Nazareth is awesome!” exclaimed Louise Krouse, president and co-founder of Brenton’s Hope, after about 400 orange- and blue-shirted walkers and runners participated in the 2nd annual 5K Dragonfly Run/Walk. Registration proceeds will benefit Brenton’s Hope -- a non-profit organization founded in April 2011. The organization helps raise childhood cancer awareness and funds for local families facing the hardships of a childhood cancer diagnosis. The foundation was inspired by Louise's son, Brenton J. Krouse, who lost his battle against T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia on June 1, 2009 at just 11 years old.
