The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for a sloppy mix of rain, sleet and snow with the possibility of one to three inches of snow accumulating in the Lehigh Valley. WFMZ meteorologist Matt Broderick says precipitation will begin as snow between late this morning and early this afternoon. Here's the NWS forecast: Friday should be mostly sunny with a high near 37.

Snow remains in the forecast for Tuesday. Late Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service at Mount Holly, N.J. issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Lehigh Valley for 2 to 3 inches of snow. The advisory will be in effect from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, and also covers counties in the Poconos, southeastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey. In a statement accompanying the advisory, the weather service said snow is expected to begin during the overnight hours, with increasing intensity of precipitation anticipated during the morning rush hour. According to the calendar, there are six more weeks of autumn, but somebody apparently forgot to tell Mother Nature. November has barely begun and the Lehigh Valley is already under a winter weather advisory. On Wednesday morning National Weather Service predicted snow will start after 1 p.m. with a daytime snow accumulation of two to four inches possible. It will be breezy with a north wind 14 to 22 mph with gusts as high as 37 mph. Parkland schools dismissed early Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service, snow and sleet will start before 10 p.m. Wednesday followed by rain and sleet with a low temperature around 32. The National Weather Service says sleet and freezing rain are possible through early Tuesday morning.
If you have to drive late tonight, you'll want to take extra care. The National Weather Service says "a wintry mix of precipitation" is possible beginning later this evening, and a winter weather advisory has been issued for Northampton County from 9 p.m. tonight to 9 a.m. Tuesday. Ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch are possible, and untreated roads and walkways are likely to become slippery, according to the advisory. Additionally, the Lehigh Valley Weather Patrol reports a possibility of sleet and freezing rain Monday night into Tuesday, turning into just rain later in the day. The LVWP adds that light snow is possible Thursday night, with warmer weather arriving over the weekend.
