She is quite petite and definitely pretty, with a beautiful red coat that is smooth and shiny. Madison has long, sleek legs. Madison's previous owners felt she was too much work. She arrived at the shelter scared and undernourished. Madison has since adjusted nicely to the shelter and has begun to trust again. Madison likes other animals. She is spayed and up to date on shots.

Gun-Wielding Lehigh Lane Man to Face Charges

The Upper Nazareth Township man who allegedly fired shots in the air and held a gun to his own neck early Friday evening, threatening to commit suicide, remains hospitalized.

The Upper Nazareth Township man who allegedly fired shots in the air and held a gun to his own neck early Friday evening, threatening to commit suicide, will face charges when he is released from the hospital. Prabhjit Singh, 25, of 2823 Lehigh Lane will be charged with three felony counts of discharging a firearm, two counts of making terroristic threats, and one count each of recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct, according to court records. The charges were filed through District Judge David Tidd's office in Lower Saucon Township. Singh has yet to be arraigned, and bail has not been set. Supervisors Finally Approve Hiring of Full-Time Officer

The Upper Nazareth Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 to hire a full-time police officer; this was the fifth time the police chief requested to hire the officer.

Police Chief Alan Siegfried asked to hire a full-time police officer -- a position that is included in Upper Nazareth Township's 2012 budget -- for the fifth time since Feb. 3. This time his persistence paid off. In a 3-2 vote, the Upper Nazareth Board of Supervisors Wednesday night approved a motion made by Chairman Mike Rinker to hire a full-time officer. The officer's expected start date is June 4, which coincides with the beginning of a pay period. Supervisors James Augustine and Willard Mohn voted "no." They previously said they'd like to see tax revenue roll in before they committed to hiring another officer. According to Supervisor Scott Sylvainus, the township has received $807,000 in real estate taxes, as opposed to $520,000 …

Upper Nazareth will hold a township-wide yard sale on Saturday, June 2 and a clean-up day on Saturday, June 9.

Spring officially began on March 20, which means your spring cleaning should be in full swing. Man, Prosecutors Reach Deal in Upper Nazareth Car Chase

A Lehigh Township man accused of leading Upper Nazareth Township police on an early-morning car chase in March had a blood-alcohol content of .20 percent when the events unfolded.

A deal was reached in the case against a Lehigh Township man who -- while driving with a blood-alcohol content of .20 percent -- allegedly led Upper Nazareth Township police on a car chase that ended in swampy woods. The legal limit for motorists in Pennsylvania is .08 percent. Richard W. Yeakel, 33, of the 500 block of Walnut Drive, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday afternoon in front of District Judge John Capobianco. Supervisors Table Motion to Hire Full-Time Officer

Police Chief Alan Siegfried asked to hire a full-time police officer -- a position that is included in Upper Nazareth Township's 2012 budget -- for the fourth time since Feb. 3. And for the fourth time, the Upper Nazareth Board of Supervisors delayed the decision, this time until the May 2 meeting. Siegfried provided the supervisors Wednesday night with three possible start dates that coincide with the beginning of pay periods -- April 23, May 7 and June 4. Supervisors James Augustine and Andy Donello previously said they'd like to see tax revenue roll in before they committed to hiring another officer.
