Charles Dean Landreth, 28, of Easton is accused of taking copper wire from truck in Stockertown after Hurricane Sandy. The truck, police say, was being used to “facilitate power.”
An Easton man is accused of trying to profit during the widespread power outages caused by Hurricane Sandy. Court records say Charles Dean Landreth, 28, took long pieces of copper wire between the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 2 and the morning of Monday, Nov. 5 from a truck at Stockertown Cement Co., 501 Center St. The wire, used for welding, was on a truck carrying equipment being used to “facilitate power.” Power in Stockertown went out on Monday, Oct. 29 and wasn’t fully restored to most borough residents until the evening of Nov. 5, the records say. Landreth is accused of selling the wire at a scrap yard for $512.14. Yard workers told police they recognized Landreth from previous visits to the yard. Landreth, of 201 E. Nesquehoning St. on…

Trespassing charges against Nazareth officers Benjamin Rizzotto and Scott Ledo were withdrawn Tuesday morning.
Mere hours before two Nazareth police officers were scheduled to answer to trespassing charges, the summary offenses were withdrawn. Benjamin D. Rizzotto, 35, and Scott James Ledo, 42, had been scheduled for a hearing Tuesday in front of District Judge Todd Strohe of Bangor. Shortly before 7 p.m. July 6, according to court records, Stockertown police were called to the Stockertown Rod and Gun Club, 206 Lefevre Road. The two Nazareth officers were found to be on the gun range after posted hours. According to www.stockertownrgc.com, the range is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Friday, the day of the incident. Rizzotto was charged with criminal trespass - simple trespasser. And because Ledo is not a member of the gun club, he was charged with …

Michael Koble, 19, is facing charges after Stockertown police discover his alleged illegal living situation.
A 19-year-old man tried to convince a Stockertown police officer he does not live in a tent the officer found pitched on private property, insisting he stays with his friend in neighboring Tatamy. That explanation came up short, however, when police found the so-called friend, who said he never heard of the other man. Court records say Michael Koble, with no known address, was charged with defiant trespass, false swearing - mislead public servant, and disorderly conduct. Stockertown officer Alex Soloe said in a criminal complaint that he was on routine patrol around 7 p.m. Sept. 24 behind the borough sewer plant on property owned by Pennsylvania Lines LLC -- also known as Norfolk Southern Railway. He found a tent with blankets and other …

Tiffany Litchfield, of Bushkill Township, was arrested at gunpoint earlier this year in Easton. She's again facing charges after allegedly charging $220 to a Stockertown man's debit/credit card without permission.
A Stockertown man told police that Tiffany Litchfield is a “family friend” but he didn’t authorize her to charge $220 on his debit/credit card, court records say. Police got in touch with Litchfield -- who was arrested at gunpoint earlier this year in Easton -- but she never showed up for an interview and wouldn’t return an officer’s calls. That was in early June. On Friday, the Bushkill Township resident was arraigned on several charges and ended up in Northampton County Prison. A criminal complaint filed by Stockertown Officer Alex Soloe says that on June 7, he spoke to Donald Good of Bushkill Street about $220 taken without authorization from his debit/credit card. Good said he got two unauthorized transactions from Western Union for $…
