The Palmer Township Community Pool could be a big draw this summer now that Nazareth Boro-Park Pool will be closed.
Palmer Township's Community Pool is a popular one. The pool already draws residents from Forks Township, which doesn't have a pool. And with Nazareth Borough Council's recent decision to close its deteriorating Nazareth Boro-Park Pool this summer, Palmer's pool might become an even more popular swimming destination. The pool kicks off its summer season May 25 and will be open on weekends until the Easton Area School District closes for the summer on June 17. The pool is on Seip Avenue and Farmersville Road and has hours of operation between 12:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. daily, weather and attendance permitting. It holds several events throughout the summer: Family Nights on July 5 and July 19 and Movie Nights on June 28 and July 12. Here are the …

Shut twice in the past month because of sinkholes, Northwood Avenue in Palmer Township has opened once again.
Northwood Avenue is back in business. Palmer Township Police Chief Larry Palmer said the sinkhole that shut Northwood Avenue, the key road connecting Forks Township to Palmer and Lower Nazareth townships, earlier this week has been repaired and that the road is open again. Palmer said Northwood Avenue opened between late Thursday afternoon and early evening. Frank Cullen, who lives near the sinkhole and has expressed fear for his family's safety, said that the road opened at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. But Cullen still says there are plenty of unresolved issues. He said one issue is vehicle operators such as 18-wheelers and cars violating speed limits. "The pounding, abuse and compaction these vehicles cause will lead to other incidents," Cullen …

Palmer Township authorities say Northwood Avenue could be shut again for several days.
Guess what is closed again? Northwood Avenue. And guess why? Sinkholes. Sinkholes that shut Northwood Avenue, the key road connecting Forks Township to Palmer and Lower Nazareth townships, in early April have made their return in early May. Palmer Township Police Chief Larry Palmer said Monday afternoon that the sinkholes are back, and that the road could be closed for several days. The road was closed on a Thursday in early April due to a water main break that caused two sinkholes. Crews from Easton Suburban Water Authority worked around the clock to fix and fill the sinkholes and get the road reopened three days later.

Traffic light on Route 248 will be part of new Sheetz project in Palmer Township near the Lower Nazareth Township border.
Route 248 is going to be a little more stop and go—and stop—down the road. The Palmer Township Board of Supervisors have approved traffic easement, basically giving the green light to Strausser Enterprises for improvements around the Northwood Center, which includes a CVS and one day a Sheetz gas station/convenience store. The project is just down the road from the Lower Nazareth Township border. Palmer Township Solicitor Charles Bruno said Strausser Enterprises signed off on permanent right-of-way to accommodate the traffic signal, which will be on the corner of Route 248 and Kingston Road. CVS opened earlier this year and land has been cleared for Sheetz but no building has taken place yet. It is unknown when Sheetz is scheduled for …

I am sure Alercia had the same questions...like, "maam, how do you come about being in the car, if you did not know the guy?" or, "what were you doing in the car, before you were "pushed" out?", or "what started the incident?"...I am sorry, people just don't push people out of their cars for no reason...My guess is, she didn't tell them, or concocted some elaborate story...Or maybe they did not …   more ›
