Northampton County Inmate Suffers Fatal Heart Attack

Northampton County coroner Zachary Lysek says a prison inmate died after having a heart attack Thursday.

An inmate from Bethlehem suffered a fatal heart attack Thursday at Northampton County Prison, according to the county coroner. Carl Leh, 50, was found in the midst of cardiac arrest Thursday morning, said Coroner Zachary Lysek.  Staff members tried to resuscitate Leh and called 911. He was taken to Easton Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. An autospy will be performed Lysek said. Leh was in prison for allegedly assaulting his wife at their home last month, the Express-Times reports.

88-Year-Old Bethlehem Woman Killed in Lower Nazareth Crash

The Lehigh County coroner identified Gertrude M. Babin, 88, of Bethlehem as one of the two people killed in a two-car accident on Hanoverville Road in Lower Nazareth Township.

The Lehigh County Coroner's officer has identified one of the victims in Wednesday morning's two-car crash in Lower Nazareth Township. Gertrude M. Babin, 88, of Bethlehem was pronounced dead at 10:16 a.m. at St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, according to a press release. A second person traveling in a station wagon with Babin was also killed, according to a report in The Express-Times, but has not been identified. The Northampton County coroner was called to the scene of a rollover accident in front of 4519 Hanoverville Road around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Bushkill Township Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

Ricky Lee Davidson, 55, was killed Tuesday after the motorcycle he was riding struck a utility pole, according to township police.

A Bushkill Township man was killed Tuesday after the motorcycle he was riding struck a utility pole, according to township police. Ricky Lee Davidson, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 6:25 p.m. accident, which occurred in the 300 block of Kromer Road. An autopsy was scheduled for today, and the crash remains under investiagtion. Township police were assisted by the Northampton County Coroner’s Office, Plainfield Township police and the Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Corps.

19-Year-Old Killed in Bushkill Drive Crash

Michael Powers, 19, of Tatamy was killed when his car hit a building early Friday morning.

Michael Powers, 19, of Shelley Street in Tatamy, was killed in a one-vehicle accident when his car plowed into a commercial building near the intersection of Bushkill Drive and Mitman Road in Forks Township, officials have confirmed. Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 7 a.m. Friday and the roof of the car reportedly needed to be removed to free the driver, who was apparently already dead when they arrived, according to scanner reports. Apparently, Powers had been missing since Thursday. His mother, Margaret Powers, told The Express-Times that Michael left to buy sneakers in her car Thursday at 8 p.m. He didn't return.
