Nazareth Investment Services recently donated $2,000 to the Nazareth Center for the Arts. The donation was made during a Fine Wine and Finance holiday event sponsored by Joseph B. Engleby, managing director of Nazareth Investment Services and financial adviser of Raymond James Financial Services. The event was the first of its kind at the Nazareth Center for the Arts and featured a presentation that compared Fine Wine to Finance, as well as wine tasting and food pairings. “I am proud to support the Nazareth Center for the Arts and look forward to continuing my support in the future,” Engleby said. The Nazareth Center for the Arts (NCA) was presented with a $2,000 check from the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce's Main Street Lehigh Valley Foundation in recognition of the completion of its interior/ exterior illumination project. The reimbursement covers more than half of the expense of the installation of the lighting project. The check was presented to the committee volunteers by Chamber Foundation Grant Committee Chair, John Hayes, President of AFC First Financial Corp., and Marlyn Kissner, Executive Vice President Regional Chambers. Actor Jon Seda, who portrayed Marine John Basilone in "The Pacific," will appear at the Nazareth Center for the Arts tomorrow -- Thursday, May 31 -- during a reception that will begin at 6:30 p.m. Seda will discuss the experience of filming HBO's 10-part mini-series, which is a companion piece to the 2001 mini-series "Band of Brothers." The Hillcrest Camera Club will hold an opening reception at the Nazareth Center for the Arts on Sunday, Jan. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Members of the Hillcrest Camera Club will have their photography on display at the Nazareth Center for the Arts from Jan. 8-28. There will be an opening reception on Sunday, Jan. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the reception will be moved to Sunday, Jan. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. Gallery hours at the arts center are every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. Established in 1937, the Hillcrest Camera Club is a company photo club, according to a press release. Trevor Gordon Hall to Perform Friday, Dec. 16 Trevor Gordon Hall returns to the Nazareth Center for the Arts Friday night for a special holiday performance. Hall, an acoustic guitarist, will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Hall will be playing several selections from his Christmas album, Let Your Heart be Light, and from his recently released album, Entelechy. “This new album is all original material and is through a great acoustic label called Candyrat records," Hall wrote in an e-mail to Patch. Ray to Perform Friday Night The Large Flowerheads, a unique band that brings the sights and sounds of the 60s to life, will take the stage Friday night at 8:30 at the Nazareth Center for the Arts. “The Large Flowerheads look like the 60s with their paisley shirts and Nehru jackets, and they sound enough like the bands of that era to be the real thing,” wrote Jack Fichter from the Cape May County Herald. Four musical performances and a revival of "A Christmas Carol" round out a busy weekend at the Nazareth Center for the Arts.

Heath Hitchcock returns to the Nazareth Center for the Arts for a Sunday matinee performance.
Heath Hitchcock will return to the Nazareth Center for the Arts for a 3 p.m. Sunday matinee performance. Hitchcock will entertain with traditional classical music that is heavily influenced by Spanish guitar-playing and composers from South America. In a telephone interview with Patch, Hitchcock said his style is similar to that of Andres Segovia. Hitchcock gained much of his performing experience while attending the The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. While studying under the likes of Julian Gray and Manuel Barrueco, Hitchcock found his style and has been performing and teaching ever since. He teaches privately throughout the Lehigh Valley.
