'Teen Mom 2' Star: No One Wants to Stay in the Lehigh Valley

'Teen Mom 2' star and Nazareth grad Kailyn Lowry live-tweets during a recent episode and has a few choice words for the Lehigh Valley.

Why do you live in the Lehigh Valley? What about your community makes you stay? According to Kailyn Lowry, a star of "Teen Mom 2" and a Nazareth Area High School graduate, you're probably not living in the Lehigh Valley by choice. Lowry live-tweeted and reminisced during Monday night's episode of "Teen Mom 2," a spin-off of the MTV documentary series "16 & Pregnant." The episode detailed Lowry's now-fiance's journey toward an Air Force career and the possibility that the soon-to-be family will be stationed outside of Pennsylvania. During the episode, Lowry asks her son, Isaac, if he wants to live in the Lehigh Valley. Lowry tweeted, "I wana stay in the Lehigh Valley forever...... Said no one ever. Hahah #TeenMom2." 'Big Bang Theory' to Feature Nazareth Actress Thursday Night

Nazareth-area actress Kate Micucci will start a role on "Big Bang Theory" on Valentine's Day.

Lehigh Valley actress Kate Micucci has been cast in a recurring role on "The Big Bang Theory" as "a potential love interest for the confirmed bachelor Raj, according to the Hollywood Reporter and Wikipedia. The Hollywood Reporter says she will make her debut on the Valentine's Day episode of the CBS comedy in two weeks. Born in New Jersey and raised in Bushkill Township, Micucci appeared in five episodes of "Scrubs" and has had guest roles on "Raising Hope," "Malcolm in the Middle," "'Til Death" and "How I Met Your Mother." Micucci, a 1998 graduate of Nazareth Area High School, has appeared in 10 movies and performs in Los Angeles as half of the musical duo "Garfunkel and Oates." Muhlenberg Recognizes Nazareth Grads after Stellar Cross Country Season

Craig Welker and Luke Munyan, 2011 graduates of Nazareth Area High School, recognized for 'breakthrough' seasons with the Muhlenberg College men's cross country team.

Sophomore Craig Welker of the Muhlenberg College men’s cross country team was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for excellence in the classroom and on the course for the second year in a row. Welker is a 2011 graduate of Nazareth Area High School. To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student must be a sophomore or higher in class standing; a starter or key reserve on his or her team, and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average. A double major in Spanish and psychology, Welker helped the Mules improve their finish from last year at both the Centennial Conference Championships (5th place) and NCAA Mideast Regional (15th). His top finish was 20th place at the Falcon Classic at Cedar Crest College, …

DA: Charges Could Come Soon in Matthew Kelly Case

A Northampton County grand jury has been investigating Matthew Kelly's West Ward homicide since the spring.

Charges could be filed in the next few weeks in the case of a Nazareth Area High School graduate shot and killed earlier this year in Easton.  Bethlehem resident Matthew Kelly was killed at the beginning of April, and his death went before a Northampton County grand jury a few weeks later. Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said Monday charges could be filed in the case within 30-60 days "if not sooner." He was speaking at a news conference about two more recent cases: a shootout in Bethlehem that killed a 23-year-old woman, and the death of Paul Murray on Easton's South Side on Sunday. Kelly, 20, was shot and fatally wounded April 1 in the parking lot of a West Ward church. Police believe Kelly and two women had planned …

Joseph M. Pietroforte, a 2010 graduate of Nazareth Area High School, was struck by a vehicle and killed Monday night in West Goshen Township, Chester County.

A 21-year-old Nazareth man was killed Monday night in a pedestrian accident in West Goshen Township, Chester County. Joseph M. Pietroforte, a 2010 graduate of Nazareth Area High School, was struck by a vehicle and killed in the 600 block of S. Bolmar Street, according to the West Goshen Township Police Department. Police said William Eckel, 80, of Glen Mills, Delaware County, struck the West Chester University student around 5:18 p.m. Monday. Pietroforte was walking to his job at a nearby trucking company, the Daily Local News reports. The accident is under investigation. Eckel, who was not injured, has been cooperative, according to police. Pietroforte celebrated his 21st birthday on Saturday. Earlier this year when I was struggling to hang a shutter, Joey's father saw I was having a hard time and came over to help me. Entries for NAHS Alumni Art Show Being Accepted

Submissions for the third Nazareth Area High School Alumni Art Show -- to be held in May 2013 -- are being accepted through Dec. 1.

Artwork in all media is being accepted through Dec. 1 for the Nazareth Area High School Alumni Art Show.  In its third year, the show will open in May 2013 with a reception during the district's annual Arts Festival. The Eagle Nest Gallery is soliciting artwork in all media from graduates. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork, fine art, commercial art, hobbyist art, craft work... all work is welcome. Police: Nazareth High Grad Killed in Easton Planned Robbery

Court documents say Matthew Kelly, shot to death earlier this year in Easton, planned to rob a man in parking lot where the shooting happened.

A Nazareth Area High School graduate who was shot and fatally wounded in Easton in April had lured another man there and planned to rob him, according to published reports. The Morning Call, citing a search warrant return, said police believe Matthew Kelly and two women had planned to rob a man named Brian Simmons on the night of April 1. Police say Simmons had gone to meet with Kelly in a church parking lot at the 1100 block of Spruce Street believing he'd be taking part in a drug deal. Simmons was shot and also stabbed when the meeting turned violent, with numerous people shooting at each other. Kelly, 20, of Bethlehem, was shot and died the following day at Easton Hospital.
