A messy mixture of snow, ice and rain is expected Monday along with sub-freezing temperatures in the morning
A winter storm is on the way and it could make for a messy commute to work or school Monday morning, according to weather forecasters. WFMZ says snow will start around sunrise and continue for a few hours before it changes to rain in late morning or early afternoon. The National Weather Service predicts "rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 3 p.m., then rain and freezing rain, possibly mixed with sleet from 3 to 4 p.m., then rain and sleet likely after 4 p.m." We could get about an inch of snow and sleet. Daytime highs will climb into the 40s on Tuesday and 50s on Wednesday but both days will be cloudy and rainy.

The Nazareth area could get 1-3 inches of snow later on Friday, according to local forecasts.
A quick-moving storm is expected to bring snow to the Nazareth area Friday afternoon and night, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service. Snow could start falling late Friday afternoon and bring one to three inches, WFMZ predicts. Temperatures will continue to stay well below freezing over the weekend, but we could see a warm up next week.

Daytime highs will be well below freezing in the Nazareth area through Saturday, Jan. 26. Temperatures will start to creep above freezing beginning Sunday.
There's snow in the forecast along with a big chill that will keep daytime high temperatures from rising out of the 20s for the rest of the work week. An arctic air mass is bringing the coldest weather so far this season -- perhaps even colder than anything we experienced last winter, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasted temperatures for the Nazareth area: Regarding Friday's snow, the WFMZ forecast says it's still too early to determine how much snow will fall on the Lehigh Valley.

The Lehigh Valley will see a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain Tuesday night and into Wednesday.
A winter weather advisory will be in effect for the Lehigh Valley from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS says we could get some snow, sleet and freezing rain. New snow accumulation of 1 to 4 inches possible, along with half-an-inch of ice. The forecast calls for snow and sleet to spread over the region late Tuesday, becoming steady after midnight. Freezing rain will enter the picture Wednesday morning. The wintry mix, the NWS adds, is forecast to change gradually back to all rain during mid- to late-morning hours on Wednesday before ending. Temperatures will dip into the low 30s.

The Lehigh Valley is enjoying a January thaw this week with temperatures that will climb from the 40s into the 50s.
The National Weather Service says temperatures will climb into the 50s the next few days, giving us a nice respite from the unseasonably cold weather we had over the holidays. The high could hit 57 by Sunday, although skies will be cloudy over the weekend. Here's the forecast: Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 44. West wind 5 to 8 mph. Friday: A chance of rain after 8am. Cloudy, with a high near 44. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57.

Snow is the forecast again and we could get a few inches on Saturday.
So far this week, we had a white Christmas and a post-Christmas snow and ice storm that led to a tragic accident on Interstate 78. While today will be sunny, snow is in the forecast again with a few inches or more expected Saturday. The National Weather Service says hazardous travel should develop for much of eastern Pennsylvania Saturday morning as snow begins falling around daybreak or shortly after that. Snowfall could range from 2 to 5 inches ending in the afternoon or evening. Daytime temperatures will hover in the low to mid 30s. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high of 34.

Snow remains in the forecast for Tuesday. Late Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service at Mount Holly, N.J. issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Lehigh Valley for 2 to 3 inches of snow.
