Nazareth Area High School has a new assistant principal. Nicolette Teles has been hired to replace Mark Madson as the assistant principal for students in grades 9 and 11. The hire went into effect Tuesday, Jan. 15, according to an e-mail to parents and guardians from Principal Alan Davis. Teles has been a social studies and gifted education teacher at the high school for 10 years, Davis said, adding that she has served as an adviser to numerous clubs and organizations. She has also played a significant role in the development, implementation and management of the school's Eagle Block program. The Nazareth Area School Board filled two top administration posts Monday night and announced that candidates are being sought for the board seat recently vacated by Chris Audenried. The board approved Isabel Resende as assistant to the superintendent. Resende, currently one of two directors of curriculum, replaces Michael Roth, a district fixture for 17 years who began a new job last month as superintendent of the Salisbury Township School District. Replacing Resende will be assistant high school principal Mark Madson, also known in area sports circles as onetime Nazareth High football coach.
