A Nazareth woman was admitted to the hospital early Thursday for a psychiatric evaluation after allegedly leading Colonial Regional Police on a high-speed car chase and refusing to exit her vehicle, forcing police to smash a car window to get her out. Sarah Richner, 20, of the unit block of N. Whitfield Street, will be charged via summons with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, escape, careless driving, reckless driving, and driving without headlights, according to a press release. Around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, according to police, an officer initiated a traffic stop on a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero because the vehicle’s headlights were not turned on. Brian Moffo commemorated his survival of a near-fatal heart attack with EMS, nurses and doctors -- the medical professionals who saved his life -- at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.
On the morning of Sept. 7, 2011, Brian Moffo, 48, experienced what doctors call an acute myocardial infarction -- a heart attack. The Lower Nazareth Township resident had a blockage of the left anterior descending (LAD) artery. Moffo's diagnosis is known to medical professionals as the "widow-maker.” Dr. Anthony Urbano, director of the Cath Lab at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, explained that the LAD artery supplies nearly 40 percent of the heart with blood. “In the old days, there was a reason it was called the ‘widow-maker,’” Urbano said. “[Moffo] was discharged in three days, which is quite remarkable, [and] it really shows how far we’ve come in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction.” According to Moffo -- who discussed his …
