First Student Inc.: Kelly Quier was a 'Well-Respected Member of Our Team'

Kelly Quier, the driver killed in Tuesday's crash in Upper Nazareth, was employed by First Student Inc. since November 2004.

In a statement to Patch, First Student Inc. confirmed that a company van was involved in a fatal accident in Upper Nazareth Township Tuesday that killed driver Kelly Quier, 42, of Walnutport, and injured two others. “Sadly, our driver has passed away and our hearts go out to the driver’s family and friends at this difficult time,” said Timothy Stokes, a spokesman for First Student. According to Stokes, Quier was a driver for First Student since November 2004 and “was a well-respected member of our team.” Records show Quier had no major driving violations prior to Tuesday’s crash. Walnutport Woman Killed in Upper Nazareth Township Crash

Kelly Quier of Walnutport identified as person killed in Upper Nazareth Township crash.

A Walnutport woman driving a First Student, Inc. van has been identified as the person killed in a 3:32 p.m. crash in Upper Nazareth Township. Kelly Quier, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek. Lysek has yet to determine Quier's cause and manner of death. He said more information would be available Wednesday afternoon. Quier was driving a First Student van on Newburg Road when, for unknown reasons, she crossed the center line and collided with a recreational vehicle, according to Alan Siegfried, chief of Upper Nazareth police. Fatal Accident Involves Student Van in Upper Nazareth

One person is reported killed in a collision between an RV and student transport van.

The driver of a First Student Inc. van was killed today in a collision with a recreational vehicle on Newburg Road -- just past Gun Club Road -- in Upper Nazareth Township, according to reports at the scene. The collision occurred when the student transport van, for unknown reasons, crossed the center line and collided with the RV, according to Upper Nazareth Police Chief Alan Siegfried. The van had just entered Upper Nazareth on Newburg Road and the RV was headed toward Route 191 in Lower Nazareth Township. There was one student in the van. The student was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill. The driver of the RV was also taken to St. Luke’s. No word was given on the condition of either.
