Nazareth Woman Leads Colonial Regional Police on High-Speed Chase

Sarah Richner, 20, of Nazareth allegedly led two Colonial Regional Police officers on a high-speed chase early Thursday; a tire deflation device was used to stop her 2003 Mitsubishi Montero.

A Nazareth woman was admitted to the hospital early Thursday for a psychiatric evaluation after allegedly leading Colonial Regional Police on a high-speed car chase and refusing to exit her vehicle, forcing police to smash a car window to get her out. Sarah Richner, 20, of the unit block of N. Whitfield Street, will be charged via summons with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, escape, careless driving, reckless driving, and driving without headlights, according to a press release. Around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, according to police, an officer initiated a traffic stop on a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero because the vehicle’s headlights were not turned on. Police Still Searching for Car-Chase Suspect

After a manhunt that lasted about three hours, Colonial Regional Police are still searching for a man who eluded police Friday after an officer attempted to make a traffic stop at 1:53pm, The Express-Times reports. The man, whose identity has not been confirmed, was traveling north on Route 191 in a black Dodge truck when police attempted to make a traffic stop. He continued north on Route 191, turned left onto Steuben Road, and then continued onto Georgetown Road in Lower Nazareth Township. The suspect then drove about a mile into a cornfield and ran into nearby woods. The man is described as a 34-year-old white male with brown hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and camouflage shorts. It it unknown if he is armed…
