Happy birthday, Nazareth Patch!
Some people consider themselves “victims” of a small town. Me? I consider myself lucky. I spent the majority of my childhood and teen years living in Plainfield Township -- or in the Village of Belfast, if you want to get really technical. In 2004 I graduated from Pen Argyl Area High School. I believe there were about 100-110 students in my graduating class. Yes, I’m from small-town America. But unlike a lot of high school friends and acquaintances, I never had the urge to leave the Lehigh Valley. There’s four seasons, beautiful scenery, plenty of history, and there really are things to do if you look in the right places. The home of Nazareth Patch's editor may be located in one of the best spots to watch fireworks displays -- throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Fireworks displays entertain the masses -- the young and the young-at-heart -- every year; however, getting to and from these "consumer displays" can be quite the chore. First you need to track down when the shows are happening, then you must wage war and battle through vehicle and human traffic. Unless you're the editor of Nazareth Patch. From the back yard of Mallory Vough's home, you can see clear across the Lehigh Valley, making it the perfect spot to watch Nazareth's annual fireworks that were held in conjunction with Nazareth Days. This top-secret location shall remain just that -- a secret -- but photos have been included for those who missed Nazareth's fireworks display Saturday night that drew plenty of "oohs and aahs."
