Nazareth Area High School's swim team will collect donations -- and don special-colored suits -- for Brenton's Hope during a meet against Freedom High School on Tuesday, Jan. 15. Brenton’s Hope was inspired by Brenton J. Krouse. The 11-year-old from Bushkill Township lost his battle against T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia on June 1, 2009. The non-profit organization was founded in April 2011. The organization -- headed by Brenton's mother, Louise -- helps raise childhood cancer awareness and funds for local families facing the hardships of a childhood cancer diagnosis. About 400 people Saturday morning participated in the 2nd annual 5K Dragonfly Run/Walk for Brenton's Hope, an organization that helps raise childhood cancer awareness and funds for local families.
“Nazareth is awesome!” exclaimed Louise Krouse, president and co-founder of Brenton’s Hope, after about 400 orange- and blue-shirted walkers and runners participated in the 2nd annual 5K Dragonfly Run/Walk. Registration proceeds will benefit Brenton’s Hope -- a non-profit organization founded in April 2011. The courage and spirit of Brenton J. Krouse inspires local non-profit organization.
Brenton J. Krouse was just 11 years old when he succumbed to T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia on June 1, 2009. The Bushkill Township boy who was "filled with spirit and faith" may have lost his courageous battle, but his parents continue to fight the good fight against childhood cancer. Philadelphia native Bill McConney, whose musical genres include acoustic, folk and roots, will be the opening act Saturday night for musical duo Kim and Ed Rhoades at the Nazareth Center for the Arts. The performances will start at 7:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. All ticket proceeds will benefit Brenton’s Hope, a non-profit organization founded by the family and friends of Brenton J. Krouse, who lose his battle with leukemia at the age of 11.
