April Gas Prices Have Been Good to Drivers

Gas prices in every state—except Idaho—have seen another decrease since last week, according to AAA’s fuel report. In Pennsylvania, the average for a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.552 per gallon down 5.4 cents from a week ago. U.S. gasoline prices in April have continued to fall, the reports states, not just because of weak demand, but oil prices have also moved sharply lower. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price is $3.52 per gallon, which is down five cents from a week ago, and 45 cents lower than a year ago. Locally, the cheapest price is $3.48 at 7-Eleven and Top Star on Route 191 in Upper Nazareth Township, and also at Giant in Lower Nazareth Township. Gas Prices Continue to Decline

While gas prices declined in March, oil prices crept higher; both are indicators of an economic recovery, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this week is $3.637 for a gallon, down 2.1 cents from last week. In the Lehigh Valley, it will cost you an average of $3.62 a gallon to fill up your tank, down from $3.65 a week ago and $3.89 this time last year. In Bucks and Montgomery counties, gas prices dropped another 2.6 cents a gallon to an average of $3.625 -- that’s 27.4 cents lower than last year’s prices. The Pennsylvania average retail price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline is $3.653, down 2.1 cents from a week ago. Nearby, the cheapest price for regular is $3.60 at Fuel Cell in Beflast, $3.62 at 7-Eleven…

Gas Prices Rise 45 Cents in a Month

Find the cheapest gas in the Nazareth area.

The national average for a gallon of gas has increased for 34 consecutive days, rising 47 cents—or more than 14 percent—during this stretch, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. This is the longest streak since the price increased 44 cents over 44 days March 22-May 5, 2011. The average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Nazareth area is $3.75, up 14 cents since last week, 45 cents higher than a month ago and 18 cents higher than a year ago. In Pennsylvania, the average price of self-serve gasoline is now $3.788 per gallon, up 5.6 cents since last week.
