Bushkill Township Celebrates 200th Anniversary Saturday

Festivities planned at Bushkill Township municipal complex throughout the day.

Bushkill Township is throwing a huge party Saturday to celebrate its 200th anniversary.

The festivities kick off with a breakfast buffet and lunch from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. at the Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company.

An opening ceremony to celebrate the anniversary takes place at 9:30 a.m. at the recreation fields near the picnic pavilion. There will then be free trolley rides giving a tour of the township's history from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Children's activities are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be displays and information tables, emergency services equipment demonstrations (1-4 p.m.) and the Nazareth Community Band (3-5 p.m.)

A parade, horse demonstration, face painting, school tours, a ride-the-rails train, clowns, vintage dress-up and folk sing-alongs are also all part of the festivities.

All the festivities will take place at the municipal complex on 1114 Bushkill Center Road.
