Last year , we asked readers to post tributes -- whether it was just a few words, a picture, or a poem -- to the veterans they knew.
For Memorial Day, we're doing something similar. Tell us who you're remembering today. It could be someone who was in the military and never made it home, but we also realize that many people use the day as a time to remember anyone that they've lost.
Nazareth's Memorial Day parade will march off Center Square at 10 a.m.
About Memorial Day:
Memorial Day, an American holiday observed on the last Monday of May, honors men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, at least, it marks the beginning of summer.
