Hecktown Fire Helps Santa Deliver Presents

Hecktown Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1, which serves Lower Nazareth Township, helped Santa deliver presents to about 60 children during the annual "Santa Run."

Several fire trucks and two crews left the complex at approximately 12:50 p.m. on Dec. 17. There were two teams (and two Santas) with one goal in mind -- deliver presents to about 60 children in .

The idea of a "" was introduced to the area after a relocated resident and firefighter from New Jersey described the activity to Hecktown personnel. The idea took off and has since been held during the weekend before Christmas.

Parents drop presents off at the fire station prior to the event, and a $10 donation per gift -- to benefit the department -- is requested. Santa is then driven through Lower Nazareth via fire truck and personally delivers the presents to area children.

  • Fire Marshal Kevin Lambert
  • Fire Capt. Matt Novak

  • Lt. Marc Suhr
