8 Ways to Stay Cool This Week
It's going to be a really hot week. Here are some ways to beat the heat in Nazareth.
The National Weather Service forecast for Nazareth shows temperatures in the mid-90s the next few days, with a heat index value around 100.
If high temperatures and humidity have you seeking heat relief, here are some places to cool off:
- Dutch Springs in Lower Nazareth Township is the place to get a little wet this weekend.
- Check out the hot summer blockbusters like "The Great Gatsby" at Regal Cinemas in Lower Nazareth Township.
- Enjoy frozen treats at Rita's on East Lawn Road in Upper Nazareth Township or So Fun Yogurt on Route 248 in Lower Nazareth Township.
- Since the Nazareth Boro-Park Pool is shut for the summer, you can visit Palmer Community Pool and Stones Crossing pool in nearby Palmer Township.
- Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom are open for the 2013 season. The water park features dozens of slides, pools, rivers and water play areas. Wildwater Kingdom is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. this weekend. Daily tickets start at $39.99 and can be purchased online.
- Watching penguins splash around at the Lehigh Valley Zoo is a cool way to spend some time. You might also catch a glimpse of the zoo's new baby bison.
- Do you know there's a nudist camp nearby? Sunny Rest Resort near Palmerton offers a relaxed, clothes-free atmosphere if you dare to go bare.
- A day trip to Jim Thorpe offers whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River or a refreshing swim, fishing and boating atMauch Chunk Lake Park.
