IronPigs Unveil New Uniforms, Invite Fans to #SmellTheChange

Bacon is the star of the show for the new Saturday home uniforms.

The IronPigs this week unveiled a series of new uniforms for the 2014 season. There are uniforms that give a nod to the region’s steel past, and uniforms add a touch of whimsy with hats adorned with images of crispy bacon. (Yum.)

The new Friday home uniforms are all black, “with a Molten Red IronPigs logo on the cap, a jet-black jersey with steel-plated chrome lettering and black pants with IronPigs Steel piping, pay tribute to the Lehigh Valley’s rich steelmaking history,” the team says, adding, “The molten IronPigs cap logo appears to be literally dripping with liquid metal.”

The Saturday home uniform has gotten perhaps the most buzz — it’s all about the bacon. Both the red jersey and two-toned hat feature strips of bacon, and, the team says, “the first-of-its-kind bacon-style piping down both legs of the pants.”

The Sunday home uniform showcases the team’s Philadelphia connection, with the Liberty Bell features on the blue cap.

The IronPigs home uniform remains unchanged since its 2008 debut. The road jerseys are very similar to past designs, the team says, but “Lehigh Valley” is now in a larger font across the front.
