Fans Going Green Friday for Matthew Greene

The Nazareth Area football season kicks off Friday with a tribute to missing teacher Matthew Greene.

They're going to go green for Matthew Greene.

As first reported by Nazareth Patch sports blogger Andy Weaver, fans attending the first Nazareth Area High School football game of the season are being asked to wear green in support of missing math teacher Matthew Greene.

The game starts at 7 p.m. Friday at Andrew S. Leh Stadium.

Weaver reported that students who sit in the student section (aka “The Blue Crue”) have decided that they are going to be cheering on our Blue Eagles but wearing green in support of Mr. Greene.

"Please come out to the game Friday night and see another reason why we have such wonderful students. Go Blue Eagles," Weaver said.

Greene, a high school math teacher in the Nazareth Area School District, a Bethlehem resident and a Lehighton High School graduate, was last seen in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., on July 16. Search and rescue attempts are continuing.

Police are asking anyone with information about Greene’s whereabouts to call the Mammoth Lakes Police Department at (760) 934-2011 or the Mono County Sheriff’s Office at (760) 932-6549 X7.
