The Nazareth Area High School Theatre Troupe is busy preparing for its next musical, "Anything Goes."
But before curtains rise in April, the theatre troupe needs the community's help.
- 1930s style clothing (traveling aboard the ship) - men and women, casual and dress, including hats, gloves, handbags and suitcases.
- Seven (7) graduation or choir robes - can be on loan, will be cleaned and returned. Bright colors, no black.
- Sailor hats and uniforms - or white scrub pants and long sleeve tops that can be converted. Sailor hats and uniforms can be returned.
- Seamstresses are needed to help construct costumes.
Volunteers needed for program layout and design. This would be a great opportunity for someone studying graphic design and/or marketing. The volunteers will work with staff on designing advertisements, laying out pages, writing copy, etc. Great experience for resumes and portfolios.
Interested in volunteering? Do you have donations? Contact Linda Nevins at (610) 504-0978.
The theatre troupe will present "Anything Goes" on April 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28. The troupe will participate in the 2013 Freddy Awards.
Here's a brief synopsis of "Anything Goes" by www.broadwaymusicalhome.com:
Aboard the S.S. American are Billy Crocker, a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who in turn is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, nightclub singer and former evangelist Reno Sweeney, and Public Enemy #13, Moonface Martin, who is posing as a minister. A series of comical mistaken identities ensues as the passengers and crew sing and dance their way across the Atlantic.
