Nazareth's Michael Q. Roth to be New Salisbury Superintendent

The Salisbury School Board plans to approve Nazareth Assistant Superintendent Michael Q. Roth to serve a five-year term as Salisbury's superintendent.

The Salisbury Township School Board is expected to appoint Michael Q. Roth as the new superintendent tonight.

Roth is currently the Nazareth Area School District assistant superintendent of educational programs.

The board will vote on the appointment at a special session before the operations committee meeting.

Roth will be offered a five-year term beginning Nov. 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2017 at a salary of $135,000, according to the school board agenda.

Roth will replace Acting Superintendent Louise Beauchemin, who was appointed to the position after Superintendent Robert Gross died May 30. Beauchemin will retire later this month.
