Nazareth Student's Artwork to Appear in National Exhibition
Artwork created by a Lower Nazareth Elementary School student has been chosen to appear in the national "All Kids Can...CREATE!" art exhibit.
A touring art exhibition will debut at Union Station in Washington, D.C., Wednesday and will feature 102 pieces of artwork created by students -- some with disabilities -- from across the country, including the work of a Nazareth girl.
The national exhibit, titled "All Kids Can...CREATE!," will feature the work of 102 students -- two from each state and the District of Columbia.
One of the students chosen to represent Pennsylvania is 10-year-old Caroline Kilareski, who recently completed third grade at .

“Of course we are excited,” said Jennifer Kilareski, Caroline's mother. “We just want to help her achieve her highest potential.”
Caroline's artwork, a ceramic sculpture titled “Purple Fish,” was submitted by her art teacher, Janine Watt.

According to Caroline, art is her favorite subject in school, and although she enjoys working with clay the most, she also draws and paints.
The exhibition's theme for 2011 is “Imagination Across America," and young artists, ages 5 to 15, began submitting their artwork in November 2010.
Entries topped 4,700 and included paintings, sculptures and photographs.
Each entry was judged by an expert panel of artists and teachers who painstakingly whittled down their exhibition choices to just 102.
Past exhibitions have gone on to tour at children’s museums and schools around the country, according to Laura Broom, a communications manager at VSA, the international organization of arts and disabilities. After the nearly yearlong exhibition, Broom added, the artwork is typically placed on display at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C.
"All Kids Can...CREATE!" is the product of a partnership between the CVS Caremark All Kids Can program and VSA.
CVS Caremark All Kids Can supports "nonprofit organizations that provide innovative programs and services in local communities focused on helping children with disabilities learn, play and succeed in life."
And VSA is one of the many organizations the CVS Caremark All Kids Can program supports.
