Eagle Nest Gallery to Open 'Liquid Sublimation' Exhibit Jan. 4

"Liquid Sublimation," an exhibit featuring the artwork of Nazareth alumnus Gary Harper, will be open in the Eagle Nest Gallery on Jan. 4, 2013.

The Eagle Nest Gallery will open its exhibit "Liquid Sublimation," featuring the artwork of area artist Gary Harper, on Jan. 4, 2013.

The Nazareth alumnus is a self-realized painter who draws his inspiration from nature, monographs, frequent visits to museums, his brother's and his shared collection of others' works, and his own fecund imagination.

Harper works almost exclusively with the knife in oils on canvas as a convenience. His overall perspective on life and art is influenced by the Chinese Masters, Expressionism, Impressionism and Abstraction. His art contains references to nature, to the classics, and to the works of those he admires who painted before him. His highly chromatic paintings are truly unique, and cannot be directly compared to the works of any other painter.
