Who's To Blame for Nazareth Police Problems?

Nazareth officials are moving toward rebuilding the borough's police department. But political red tape kept the issue in limbo for a few years.

Nazareth officials may be moving forward with plans to keep and revamp its police department.

Now that a proposal for Colonial Regional Police to take over police coverage has died, the Nazareth Borough Council, Police Committee and Mayor Carl Strye Jr. are faced with the task of coming up with a gameplan to ensure that public safety will be strong for residents.

But why did this process take so long?

Nazareth was bogged down in political red tape for the past few years in trying to decide police coverage for the borough.
