Upper Nazareth Township Unveils New Website

Upper Nazareth Township site will be more user-friendly, township supervisor says.

has a new Website.

The site,‭ ‬hosted and designed by Enter.‭‬Net‭ ‬of Allentown,‭ ‬will be more user-friendly for township residents,‭ staff and officials and the general public,‭ ‬said township supervisor Scott Sylvainus.

‭“‬It's much easier to navigate,‭ ‬much easier to update,‭” ‬Sylvainus said.

The new site allows the head of each department to update that department's page --‭ ‬a welcome improvement over the old site,‭ ‬which could only be accessed through the workstation of township secretary Jeri Kronstadt,‭ ‬Sylvainus said.

Updating the site‭ “‬was a long process before‭; ‬now it's a quick process,‭” ‬he said.‭ “‬The old site was difficult to update.‭”

Agendas and minutes for township boards,‭ ‬such as the board of supervisors,‭ ‬planning commission and recreation board,‭ ‬will be updated regularly,‭ ‬according to Sylvainus.

The site's home page features a calendar of township meetings and events,‭ ‬as well as prominent icons that lead to pages with township news and information for new residents.‭ ‬A few clicks on the site will provide cyber-surfers with information on myriad aspects of life in Upper Nazareth,‭ ‬such as how to contact police or emergency services,‭ ‬when and where youth teams play ball,‭ ‬the township's tax rates and the names and photos of the township's five supervisors.

News of the new website might not have spread very far since the site just went live last Friday,‭ ‬following delays for technical reasons.‭ ‬Kronstadt said on Wednesday she has received one comment on the new site thus far --‭ ‬a positive one.

The site cost the township less than‭ ‬$1,800,‭ ‬Sylvainus said.‭ ‬When the project was put out to bid,‭ ‬Enter.Net offered not only the lowest bid but also the most features,‭ ‬he added.
