But Augustine did receive more than 10 write-in votes as a Democrat to get his name on the ballot to oppose Rinker and Ytkin in the November general election, the Northampton County voter registration office has confirmed.

There were 22 write-in votes on the Democratic side in the primary election.

"I don't represent any particular Democrat or Republican cause," he told the Easton Express-Times. "I look forward to continuing to provide sound management of the township's financial resources."

Augustine, 37, is an assistant district attorney for Northampton County. He has lived in Upper Nazareth Township for three years.
