Upper Nazareth Gets $19K for Hurricane Sandy Damage

Upper Nazareth Township gets reimbursed from FEMA from Hurricane Sandy storm damage.

Hurricane Sandy will linger in the memories of Nazareth area residents for years to come.

While the storm wreaked havoc on the region, many municipalities are still dealing with its aftermath in some fashion.

Upper Nazareth Township is no different as the storm came up in conversation at Wednesday night's Board of Supervisors meeting.

But the news wasn't so bad.

Township Secretary/Treasurer Jeri Kronstadt told supervisors that the township has been reimbursed from FEMA from damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.

She said that Upper Nazareth received $19,565.51. Of that, $17,943.92 is going to public works while $1,621.59 is being given to the police department.
