Supervisors Approve Phillips Feed & Pet Supply Addition

A warehouse in East Allen Township will no longer be needed now that Phillips Feed & Pet Supply received approval to build an addition to its distribution center in Lower Nazareth Township.

The Lower Nazareth Board of Supervisors Wednesday night unanimously approved the preliminary/final land development plan for a proposed 70,400-square-foot addition to the Phillips Feed & Pet Supply distribution center on Hecktown Road.

The plans include a new retention pond, parking for 26 trailers and a driveway along the rear of the structure.

Blaine Phillips, CEO of Phillips Feed & Pet Supply, explained in July that the addition to the back of the existing facility at 3747 Hecktown Road will streamline operations and eliminate the need for an East Allen Township warehouse, resulting in a drop in traffic between the two facilities.

“That whole shuffling from one warehouse to the other will stop,” Phillips said at the Planning Commission's meeting in July.

After reviewing revised drainage and grading designs, the Lower Nazareth Planning Commission on Aug. 20 recommended the Supervisors grant approval.
