Submit Application for Mayor Vacancy by May 3

Nazareth Borough is seeking candidates for the office of Mayor to serve until the first Monday of January 2014. Specifics and requirements follow below. The deadline for applications is May 3, 2013.

Term of Office:

• May 2013 appointment through the first Monday of January 2014. 

Candidate Requirements:

• Candidate must be a resident of the Borough of Nazareth.

• A general resume of the applicant’s qualifications for the office must be presented to the Borough Secretary by 4:30 p.m. on May 3, 2013. This document can be mailed to the 134 S. Main Street office or dropped off at that location during business hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

• Include a short statement / letter of interest giving reasons why the applicant seeks appointment. You may include any particular skills or experience you could hope to offer. Drop off or send those details with your resume.

• Candidates must appear at a “special meeting” with the current Council. The date has yet to be determined, but will be held in May 2013. The meeting will be called for and properly advertised by Council and each potential candidate will be officially notified. The meeting will be at Council Chambers, 159 W. Center Street.
