Police: Nazareth Ambulance Driver Used Company Card for Personal Fuel

A driver for Nazareth Ambulance has been charged with theft after allegedly using the company’s credit card to fuel up his personal vehicle.

Brandon Miller, 19, of the 300 block of S. Main St., Nazareth, was arraigned Wednesday night before on-duty District Judge Patricia A. Romig-Passaro of Bethlehem and charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. He is free on unsecured bail.

Jennifer McCloskey, supervisor of Nazareth Ambulance, contacted the Nazareth Borough Police Department earlier in the day Wednesday to report an employee using the company’s gas credit card for personal use, according to a police criminal complaint.

Miller is accused of charging up to $400, court records say. The charges were made when he was off duty.

According to court records, Officer Daniel Troxell obtained surveillance video in addition to documents listing dates and times of the alleged unauthorized charges. 

Miller was brought to the Nazareth Police Department headquarters, court records say, where he admitted to Troxell that hardships at home led to the thefts. 

Miller noted he has “to pay for everything” and used the Nazareth Ambulance credit card so he could get back and forth to work.
