Nazareth Receives $10,000 to Replace Library's Furnace

The Pennsylvania Department of Education grant can be applied to pay up to 50 percent of the costs related to construction and rehabilitation of a library facility.

An old oil furnace will be replaced at The Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity thanks to a $10,000 grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund.

Nazareth Borough applied for the grant, according to State Rep. Joe Emrick (R-Northampton), who made the announcement in a press release Wednesday afternoon.

“This is a great day for our community, the library and its employees,” Emrick said. “I need to also recognize Nazareth Borough for their efforts in applying for the grant as part of a very competitive process, and their being rewarded for doing so.”
