Nazareth Police Officers Taking Training

The Nazareth Borough Council signed off on three training sessions for its police officers.

Nazareth's police force is brushing up on its expertise.

The Borough Council recently approved three motions that will allow for the police department to send officers to various training programs.

  • Officer Steven Schlieg will head to the Penn State Justice Institute from Sept. 30 through Oct. 2. The training cost is $390.
  • Officer Steven Lindstedt will attend a three-day sobriety training course.
  • Three officers will be sent for Taser training at a $200 cost.
Meanwhile, the Fire Committee issued a motion which was approved to compensate new FEMA Director Jim Collins $1,500 for his services for the rest of the year.
