Nazareth Moves Ahead With Plans for New Pool

The new Nazareth community pool will have a U-shaped design, according to reports.

Nazareth officials are moving ahead with plans for a new community pool.

A month after unanimously approving a motion to hire Spillman Farmer Architects to design the pool, the borough council this week approved a contract with the firm, according to The Morning Call.

The firm will be paid $94,000, according to lehighvalleylive.com.

The pool will be U-shaped with a 50-meter section for competition swimming, a diving section and an area for swim lessons. It will replace a 74-year-old pool that was closed this summer out of structure and safety concerns.

The cost of the project is $2.5 million.

Also hired for the project was Keystone Consulting Engineers, according to the reports.
