Nazareth Council Suspends Police Officer
Nazareth Borough Council suspends Police Officer Frederick Lahovski for 10 days, but did not say why.
The already shorthanded will have its ranks further depleted after the Borough Council announced the suspension of a police officer.
Borough Council approved a motion at its meeting Monday night to suspend Police Officer Frederick Lahovski for 10 regularly scheduled working days.

There was no discussion about the grounds for the suspension.
"I can't talk about it," Police Chief Thomas Trachta said after the meeting. "I can't suspend him."

Mayor Fred Daugherty Jr. also said he could not comment because it was a personnel matter.
The council on Thursday held a 50-minute executive session that was attended by the police chief and Lahovski.
Previously, Lahovski was demoted from detective in March for an undisclosed incident, and he announced last September that he was taking a job as the part-time police chief of Forty Fort, a town of 4,600 in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area.
Lahovski has served on the Nazareth police force for the past four years.
Due to a shortage of officers, state police have been helping to cover Nazareth.
