Meet Upper Nazareth Twp. Supervisor Candidate Steve Ytkin

Steve Ytkin is challenging two incumbents for one of two Republican slots for Upper Nazareth Township supervisors in next Tuesday's primary election.

Upper Nazareth Township resident Steve Ytkin is challenging Republican incumbents Mike Rinker and James Augustine for one of two seats in the May 21 primary election.

The winners will be uncontested in November's general election.

Tell us about your educational background: Graduated from Easton Area School District. Coursework in Safety Management at Desales University.

Tell us about your professional/business background: Accounts Manager for E.T.I. Company

Why are you running for Upper Nazareth Township Supervisor?  To do whatever I can to roll back part or all of the 83 percent tax increase set in 2011, while the Township sat on a huge budget surplus.


What qualifies you to serve? Previously served on the Zoning Board for three years and the Planning Commission for 3 years.  Resident of the township for 14 years.

What do you see as the board's/commission's primary role and responsibilities? 1)To ensure responsible government with accountability to property taxpayers; and 2)to ensure the safety of our residents.

1) Taxes: In 2011, the Supervisors raised our taxes while sitting on a substantial budget surplus.  The taxes need to be decreased! 2) Garbage: Individual home owners should have the right to choose who they want to collect their garbage.  3) Budget: Reduce expenses and omit unnecessary spending to save taxpayer dollars.
