High School Hall of Fame Not Coming to Easton
City of Easton and High School Coaches group can't reach agreement on sports museum.
If you want to visit the National High School Sports Hall of Fame, you'll have to go someplace other than Easton.
The museum, which had long been named as one of the possible tenants for the city's intermodal building, has decided to move somewhere else, according to published reports.
Mayor Sal Panto made that announcement at Wednesday's city council meeting, the Express-Times reported.
Bob Ferraro of the National High School Coaches Association, which would have overseen the museum, told the Morning Call Thursday negotiations with the city had broken down.
The city began construction on the $31 million intermodal project—which will include the a new city hall, a 370-space parking deck, offices for LANTA and a LANTA bus terminal—last month.
The property is one of of several Easton area projects named to the state's KOEZ list last week, designed to attract investors with long-term tax breaks.
