GOP's Mike Turzai Issues Pa. Voter ID Statement

Rep. Mike Turzai stands by controversial Pa. Voter ID law

House Majority Leader Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny County) iissued a statement in response to today’s Commonwealth Court decision on the voter identification law.

Turzai is closely linked to the Voter ID controversy because of his comment that the new law would help Gov. Mitt Romney win Pennsylvania.

Turzai said Tuesday:

“Today’s decision by the Commonwealth Court upholds Act 18, and voter identification, and that is good.

“Voter Identification is about ensuring the integrity of our elections and preserving the principle of the ‘One person, One vote’ doctrine.

“When votes are diluted through fraud, the system starts to break down. Voter identification has always been about creating a level playing field where every Pennsylvanian’s vote represents an equal opportunity to have a voice in government.

“The fact is, the election integrity provisions that have passed the House have been to preserve the right of every citizen who is entitled to vote to be able to vote, and every citizen who votes should be sure that his or her vote has not been diluted by somebody else’s fraud.”

In looking at a total review of all , it boggles the mind in understand why republicans are so set on destroying this president. Is it a race issue, personal issue or are they just bent on dividing this country in to those that have it and want more or those that have nothing and getting less. I have noted over the last several months that every time you ask a republican representative a question they always revert back to a failed policy, but have yet to give an answer of how they would fix it and what they would bring to the table. Very simple just answer the question. But that's the republican way blame it, don't answer the question and divert the attention to some thing else. Turzai we are alot smarter than you give us credit for. We are not sheep standing on the mountain waiting to see whose going to jump first.

Amend, With that line of reasoning, how does Joe Biden have 1/2 an ounce of credibility on anything?

Majic, Please. Enough with the race baiting. Obama would not have been elected without white voters, so knock it off already with whipping out the race card. It's the economy, liberty, broken promises, mounting debt on our children, etc. It never was a race issue. I don't know an American who wasn't proud that we have come so far and finally elected a 1/2 black president. (Well, except for Michelle Obama who "for the first time was proud to be an American") Disappointment with Obama is because of what he has done to this country fiscally, security wise, and emotionally. Again, it has nothing to do with race.

@Ronnie- you seem to have missed my point. Joe Biden may be lack grace, but I can't recall him ever openly endorsing legislation aimed at suppressing republican voting in an effort to get Obama to win PA, or any other state for that matter, and then put out a public statement regarding said legislation.
