Architect for New Nazareth Pool Hired

Spillman/Farmer of Bethlehem Township gets nod for designing new borough pool.

The Nazareth new pool project seems to be moving along...swimmingly.

On Tuesday night, the Borough Council approved a motion to hire Spillman/Farmer as the architects of the new pool.

The motion was approved unanimously.

Spillman -- of Bethlehem Township -- was chosen due to its 85 years of experience overseeing pool projects, including ones at Cedar Crest College, additions to the Easton/Phillipsburg YMCA and upgrading the Heil Pool in Easton.

Recreation Director Jeanette Hartzell, in giving the presentation, also stated that a company official is Daniel Harrington, a Bronze Medal winner for the backstroke in the 1976 Summer Olympics.

The firm will design the new pool, which Hartzell said would have 50-meter lanes and two 25-meter lanes, would be 12-feet deep around a diving board, would have at least one and maybe a second baby pool and also maybe feature bubblers or sprinklers for children.
