Wind Gap Man Charged in Burglary of The American Hotel

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nazareth Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

on Thursday arrested a man who was caught on videotape breaking into the The American Hotel in the borough and opening the cash registers in search of cash, according to official records.

Paul A. Allen, 27, of Wind Gap was identified on tape by the bar manager of The American Hotel at 202 S. Main St., according to the criminal complaint. The tape shows Allen breaking the glass of the door and reaching inside to open it at 6:57am Aug. 11. Wearing dark pants and a black T-shirt, the video also shows the man opening the cash registers, the report indicates.

Allen was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief. He was sent to Northampton County Prison under $30,000 bail.
