Video Shows Brutal Fight in Nazareth Boro-Park

Nazareth Police have copied a video posted to YouTube titled "Peter vs Connor," which shows two men beating each other in Nazareth Boro-Park.

Last week, about to watch a fight between Peter Alvarez, 19, of Lower Nazareth Township and Connor Newman, 18, of Upper Nazareth Township.

On the same day, a video of the fight titled "Peter vs Connor" was posted on YouTube that police are now using as evidence.

Warning: the video shows a bloody fight.

The video clearly shows the two men in a fistfight with the sounds of people watching and at times encouraging them on.

Those two people, Alvarez and Newman, were cited for disorderly conduct when caught after the fight last week. On the YouTube post, Alvarez wrote, "Good times well worth the fine."

Mayor Fred Daugherty Jr. reported at Monday night's Borough Council meeting that police incidents like this have been on the rise. There was a 60 percent increase from March to April.

That included 10 disorderly conduct citations -- 50 percent more than March.

"It's definitely a spike," Police Chief Thomas Trachta said. "As summer approaches, there's a lot more crime. People are outside so you get more vandalism, graffiti and criminal mischief. The same thing happened last year at this time and the year before that."

Members of the public complained about the spike, including cases of vandalism. There were 15 vandalism cases in both March and April.

"We have less police officers, and it's well-known," Trachta said. "That's the problem,"

One, this fight is FAR from brutal. Two, these are kids... I hate that you call them men in this article. Three, at least they aren't shooting and killing each other. They are settling a difference the same way differences have been settled since the beginning of humans. Four, if these kids had something to do in Nazareth maybe they wouldn't occupy their time doing crap like this (and don't say "Well, there is a skate park"... we all know how much of a joke that has been). Five, I was actually surprised to see kids that age OUT SIDE!! At least they aren't sitting on their asses playing video games!! Lastly, to Mr. Mayor, and Mr. Police Chief... It's been VERY clear for years why there is a "spike" in "crime" in Nazareth this time of year. It's the end of the school year and the Borough Cops like to make their presence known before the kids are let out of school for the summer. It's been going on since I was a kid in Nazareth. Get a good story... this one sucked. Plus, I've seen WAY better "Nazo fight footage"

Why the spike in crimes? It's as simple as falling on ice. For months we've been reading about lack of police coverage, fighting over the starting hours, an honorable police officer being demoted, and now suspended, depending on the state police from Stockertown for coverage, and several other things including a fight over a tv. Thank you Mr. Mayor and Nazareth Boro council with all my heart I'M GLAD I DON'T LIVE THERE ANYMORE.

Wow. This is what kids should be doing "outside"? How about them signing up for sports!!? There are plenty of sports in Nazo! They looked like two wanna-be wrestlers to me. Maybe if they had actually gotten into wrestling, the end result would have been a little less bloody, and they would not have looked so lame. Plus it is a known fact that sports gets kids off the streets. Ya know what, if crap like this is all kids have to do, they are better off sitting around playing video games, instead of being out with the rest of society!!!!!

Typical finger pointing and dollar passing going on as usual in Nazareth PA. The Mayor wants -total power- to run the show, and the lackies of the council feed into the stupidity, in hopes of gaining a favor later. I miss you folks but dont miss that garbage. Thank SINCLAIR for putting the council and the Mayor into the bow down before me mindset.
