Thief Stuffed $420 in Merchandise in Orange Tote, Police Say

Khadijha Noone, 18, of Easton, is charged with trying to walk out of the Target in Lower Nazareth with about $420 in merchandise stuffed into an orange tote container.

Police have made an arrest in a September retail theft case in which a female teenager and another female tried to walk out of the Target in Lower Nazareth Township with about $420 in merchandise stuffed into an orange tote container.

Court records say store employees stopped the females, including suspect Khadijha Demaris Noone, 18, of Easton, as they left the store the afternoon of Sept. 28, a Friday.

But the females fled on foot without taking the merchandise and got away in a black 1998 Volkswagen Jetta. The Target is at 3835 Dryland Way near the intersection of Routes 33 and 248.

The records list Noone’s retail theft charge as her first offense. They also list her address as the 800 block of W. Berwick Street, although another listing in her file says the address is in the 500 block of W. Wilkes-Barre Street, also in the city.

The records do not say what led police to taking Noone into custody.

Colonial Regional Patrolman Matthew Antonucci writes in a criminal complaint that two Target loss-prevention employees saw the females in the women’s department around 3 p.m. Sept. 28 selecting various items and placed them into a shopping cart.

One of the females then selected an orange tote container. The females went to the domestics department and put the items from the cart into the container. The value of the items totaled $420.84.

They put the container in the cart and tried to leave the store. The loss-prevention employees tried to stop them in the vestibule but they fled and got into the Jetta.

The car was registered to Noone, who was the driver. Antonucci at some point showed one of the loss-prevention employees a photo lineup. The employee picked out Noone’s photo.

A criminal complaint was approved Oct. 22. Noone was arraigned Saturday by on-duty District Judge John Capobianco of Nazareth and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $1,000 bail.
