Stockertown Man Facing Charges of Impersonating a Public Servant

Christopher Franczak, 19, allegedly stopped a vehicle in Lower Nazareth Township and ordered the victim to turn off his vehicle and step out.

A 19-year-old Stockertown man is facing charges of impersonating a public servant after he allegedly pulled over a driver delivering papers in Lower Nazareth Township, according to .

On July 1, police say, Christopher Franczak of the first block of Main Street was driving a white vehicle with a flashing red and blue light on the dashboard.

The victim, who was not identified by police, stopped on the side of Brandywine Road in Lower Nazareth after Franczak pulled up behind him. The victim thought Franczak was an officer, according to police.

Franczak allegedly ordered the victim to shut off his vehicle and step out. When the victim complied, he realized Franczak’s vehicle was not a police car.

Franczak sped away, according to police, but the victim followed and was able to get the license plate number off the car.

Police spotted the vehicle a short time later and made a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Franczak, according to police, and he admitted to stopping the vehicle and ordering the victim to step out.

According to police, Franczak claimed he did not turn on the red or blue lights when he stopped the vehicle.

A summons will be sent to Franczak via mail through District Judge Joseph Barner’s office for impersonating a public servant and disorderly conduct.
