Stockertown Man Allegedly Shoots, Slashes Roommate

While holding a knife against his roommate's left upper lip area, Christopher David Neve, of Stockertown, allegedly said, "I'm going to make your smile bigger."

Just 15 minutes after Christmas Day, a Stockertown man shot his female apartment mate four times in the legs with a pellet gun and at one point, as she sat on the toilet, cut her on the right knee with a steel hunting knife, according to court records.

Before cutting the woman, the suspect, Christopher David Neve, pressed the knife, which is 10 to 12 inches long, against her left upper lip area and told her, “I’m going to make your smile bigger,” the records say.

The records give the following account:

At about 12:15 a.m. on Dec. 26, the woman let Neve, 23, into the apartment at 101-103 Main St., Apt. 4, because he didn’t have a key. She went back to the bedroom to go to sleep. He entered the bedroom and shot her twice in the right leg with the rifle-style pellet gun. She tried to take the gun away from him, but he pointed it at her face. She kept trying to take the gun away and was shot two more times, this time in the upper left thigh.

He stood in front of the bedroom door and would not let her leave, relenting only when she said she had to use the bathroom. As she sat on the toilet, he sat on the edge of the bathtub within arm’s reach of her. He took out the knife and poked her in the stomach without penetrating the skin. He then pressed the knife on her left cheek, leaving a 4-inch mark, and pressed it against her left upper lip area, leaving a red mark.

He then cut her left knee, causing a vertical laceration about 6 inches long. He then cut her underwear off her legs.

Neve and the woman left the bathroom and entered the living room, where he started shooting at various items. She ran back into the bedroom.

During the incident, Neve said he would rip her throat out “and kill the baby if he finds she is pregnant.”

He was arraigned later on Dec. 26 by on-duty District Judge Jackie Taschner of Palmer Township on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, possessing instruments of crime and recklessly endangering another person.

He was taken to Northampton County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $75,000 bail.
