Shoplifter Stuffed Items in Her Undies, Police Say

Shoplifting becomes a felony for Moore Township woman with past convictions who is accused of trying to steal jewelry and clothing from Kohl's.

A 22-year-old Moore Township woman took several pieces of jewelry and clothing and concealed them in her underwear in an effort to steal them from the Kohl’s department store in Lower Nazareth Township on Tuesday night, police said.

Hanna MacKenzie Jordan of 749 Bushkill Drive was charged with felony retail theft, according to court papers. Jordan has twice before been convicted of retail theft for incidents in 2009 and 2011, an arrest affidavit said.

Colonial Regional Police responded to the department store at 3768 Easton-Nazareth Highway at about 7:15 p.m., according to the affidavit.

A store loss prevention employee told police that he had observed Jordan take several pieces of jewelry and clothing, go into a fitting room and emerge from the room with nothing, the affidavit said.

Jordan then went to the men’s department and discarded a pair of shorts that concealed “a large amount of tags,” police said.

The security employee confronted Jordan after she left the store at which time the stolen items—valued at $96.32—were recovered, police said.

Jordan was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Joseph Barner of Lower Nazareth Township and released on $3,500 unsecured bail.
